  3. Should capital punishment still be enforced?

    ReplyDelete

    1. One of your blogs could look into the states and countries that have capital punishment vs. those who do not to see if it reduces crime. Also, you could do a blog on people who have been released from death row because they were found to be innocent.

  4. Should professional athletes be set to higher ethical standards?

    1. This topic brings up many questions. Who should set the standards? How are they enforced? Is there a way for an athlete to redeem him/herself after a breech of conduct. Do other countries hold their athletes to higher standards? What is the significance of not holding athletes to a high standard?

    1. I like this topic, but I don't like the wording of the questions. You could look into why Disney characters never have mothers, the ethics/values taught in the movies, the management at the amusement park (that can be a research paper just by itself).

  6. why friendship it is really important in your life ?

    1. You could do a blog on what happens to our bodies physically when we are surrounded by friends vs. when we are not. You could also look into if the differences between friends that we have close to us and "cyber" freindships to see if friends that we only interact with via technology have the same benefits.

  7. Is technology good or bad?

    ReplyDelete

    1. "good" and "bad" are too vague. Has technology benefited society is a better question because then you have a way to measure the change. You could look at how technology has made communication easier and look at the pros and cons of the changes. You could also look at how technology has allowed more people to work because it is easier than ever to run a household.

    1. This is an interesting topic. I think that you could do an entire blog on topics that are inappropriate to handle via text (hiring, firing, breaking up, etc.). You could also look at some of the texting scandals such as the nude photos what were such a problem for the school in Canyon City this year.

    1. There are several different avenues that you can take with this topic. You could look at the idea of democracy vs. communism (China) or you could look at the US as a world power who gets involved in the interests of other countries. You can keep the topic broad for the blog project, but you might need to limit it before you start the research paper.

    1. I thought that I did...Are you going to tell me otherwise? You might need to broaden this topic, but that is easy to do with the blog project.

  12. Should religion be the guiding force in a culture ?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. This topic has so many avenues that you can explore! For example, are countries that have a separation of church and state more successful, more moral (and how do you measure that)? You could spend a blog just talking about the role that religion is playing in the election this year. Another could be on the pope and the changes that he is bringing to the Catholic cultures...

    ReplyDelete

  15. How should we determine how people get paid?

    ReplyDelete

    1. One of your blog posts can be to compare how some professions are paid in the US vs. other countries. In what areas do we get paid more/less and what is the significance to society?

    1. There are a lot of avenues that you can explore with this topic. Should they be paid or are scholarships enough? Should schools be paying so much for athletics when the price of college is so out-of-control. Should ALL athletes be paid and if not how does the college decide which athletes are paid?

    1. I don't think that we should ever explode an animal. :) However, millions of people exploit animals each year by going to Sea World, zoos, circus acts, etc.

    1. I would change this to "have the changes in the drinking and driving laws been successful?" Then you could do a blog or two on what the changes were and another on if the changes were successful.
